• Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation

    Public Comment Notice

    Invitation to Comment on the Need to Continue Regulation of Select Professions/Occupations

    Earlier this year, the Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation (BPOR) had scheduled regional in-person public hearings to receive comment on the need for continued regulation of seven currently regulated professions and occupations, as recommended by the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC)

    Those regulated areas are as follows:

    • backflow prevention device workers;
    • common interest community manager employees;
    • certified interior designers;
    • landscape architects;
    • soil scientists;
    • waste management facility operators; and
    • wetland delineators.

    Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), those public hearings were canceled. As it is uncertain when the public hearings may be rescheduled safely, the Board is instead providing the public the opportunity to submit comments on the need for continued regulation of the professions/occupations listed above from Sept. 1-30, 2020

    Comments may be received through the Board's general notice posted on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall website until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020

    The Board thanks you in advance for your participation.
