    DPOR Closed Jan. 18 & 21

All state offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 18th, through Monday, Jan. 21st

Why Friday? State law designates it as Lee-Jackson Day, an official legal holiday recognizing the birthdays of native Virginians Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal AND state holiday honoring the American civil rights leader that Virginia law celebrates as another great “defender of causes.”

In case you’re curious, Virginia is the only state to observe both days. The General Assembly is currently considering a bill to “swap” Lee-Jackson Day for Election Day.

    ATTENTION HVAC Contractors and Tradesmen

DHCD is conducting a survey on compliance and understanding of the Energy Code section of the Building Code. The survey is anonymous and would be very helpful in understanding current Energy Code issues, as well as identifying areas where Virginia could improve in its training and enforcement.

Please take a moment to complete the online survey.
