Tattoo artists and clients: Don’t use tattoo inks and kits that lack a brand name, carry a dragon logo, or are missing the name and place of business of the manufacturer or distributor. DPOR licenses tattoo artists and parlors, but does not require or prohibit particular kinds of ink. (The pigments used in tattoo inks are subject to federal regulation as cosmetics and fall under FDA jurisdiction.) Read the FDA consumer alert to learn more.
