Deadline Approaching for Conventional Onsite Sewage System Installers

Suspension of exam option expires June 30th.

During the four-year exam waiver period—from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2016—conventional installers may qualify for licensure without taking the test if they meet the experience requirement.

A completed application must be received (not postmarked) no later than June 30th to take advantage of the exam waiver before the option expires.

As of July 1, 2016, all applicants for initial licensure as a conventional installer must take and pass the test.

The enabling statute “sunsets” on that day (see Chapter 704 of the 2012 Acts of Assembly), meaning the provisions of that section of the law expire, and Board staff has no discretion to make exceptions or grant additional extensions.

Registration Open for Contractor Education Provider Conference
