BOARD FOR PROFESSIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL REGULATION INFORMATION
The BPOR Board is responsible for:
- monitoring the regulatory climate in Virginia
- monitoring the policies and activities of the various regulatory boards to ensure compliance with the intent of the General Assembly and the laws in the Code of Virginia
- conducting regulatory studies when requested by the General Assembly
- directing regulatory policy, research, and analysis
- making regulatory policy recommendations to the Governor and the Director
- promulgating regulations necessary to effectuate the purposes and intent of the Code of Virginia and to establish regulatory boards to administer the system of regulation recommended by the Board and approved by the General Assembly.
