BOARD FOR BRANCH PILOTS
This nine-member board examines and licenses the pilots responsible for the safe passage of ships in Virginia's major shipping lanes and waterways. The Board was created in 1783 and was initially chartered by the King of England in the 1600's.
The Board's current regulations were last updated on March 1, 2007.
