BOARD FOR GEOLOGY
The Virginia Board for Geology was established in 1981 to implement a certification system for professional geologist for the preservation of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Virginia. To provide the public a substantial basis for relying on the professional services of a geologist, the Board for Geology administers a certification system that includes qualifications of applicants for certification and regulations to prevent deceptive or misleading practices.
