Effective August 2003, the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation is printing a Personal Identification Number (PIN) on most license renewal notices. Please note that you must have this PIN to pay renewal fees through the Web site.
The DPOR renewal PIN is temporary - valid for one renewal only. Its purpose is to allow secure login and payment of the renewal fee online. Access
to online renewal payment service is available until your renewal payment is received or until the end of your renewal grace period, whichever occurs
first. After an online renewal payment has been received, subsequent
logins will be allowed only until the end of the grace period and only
to view the receipt page - no further payments or address changes will
be permitted until the next renewal cycle begins.
The renewal payment web site uses 128-bit SSL encryption in order to
ensure secure communication; this protects confidential information
from interception and hacking.
In order to pay a renewal fee online, it will be necessary to have the following information:
- Tax ID for business license / Social Security Number or DMV Control Number for individual license (you must use the number you previously provided)
- License Number
- DPOR PIN (printed on your renewal notice
mailing)
- Credit Card Information
When all renewal requirements have been met, DPOR will mail your license within 3 business days.
Your payment transaction must be completed before midnight - United
States Eastern Time - of the due date.
