New Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) Criteria Attention Appraiser License Applicants: UPDATE (05/12/2014): The AQB voted to delay implementation of the background check requirements until January 1, 2017. All other requirements in the 2015 Criteria will be enforced effective January 1, 2015. The Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) adopted changes to the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria that became effective January 1, 2015. The changes represent minimum national requirements all states must implement. All Virginia real estate appraiser license applicants must satisfy the new criteria in order to obtain a new or upgraded license on or after January 1, 2015.
