Reporting Forms

Education providers (vendors) report education credits to the Board section at DPOR by sending properly formatted files via SFTP.  DPOR requires data files to be submitted in comma-delimited format (popularly referred to as CSV files) but allows vendors to create the CSV files using any method available.  An example of how to generate a CSV data file using Microsoft Excel is provided below.

SFTP Guide - Installation Instructions

Any FTP software you choose that supports SFTP should work with our system. The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) recommends WinSCP. 

  1. Download the exe file and install the program with default settings. 
     
  2. Alternately, you may download another version suitable for your operating system from https://winscp.net/eng/downloads.php.

 

 Connecting to the DPOR SFTP Server

  1. After installation, configure a new session in WinSCP. 
     
  2. Enter the DPOR's SFTP address in the "Hostname” field. 
     
  3. Enter the username and password provided to you by DPOR in the "User name" and “Password” fields.
