A Message From The Board

The Board for Contractors regulates individual tradesmen who engage in the trades of electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); gas fitting; water well construction; elevator mechanics; backflow prevention; and building energy analysis. (Although the term "certified" is used, state certification of these trades is mandatory, not optional.)

A Message From The Board

The Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation (BPOR) provides effective oversight of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation through objective and comprehensive guidance and transparent citizen access with consistent messaging concerning policies and programs, as well as timely provision of insightful and evidence-based advice to the Governor and Director on the regulation of professions and occupations in Virginia.

The Board is responsible for:

· Providing a means of citizen access to the Department;

Common Interest Community Board

A Message From The Board

The Common Interest Community Board regulates common interest community managers, as well as certain employees of licensed management firms. The Board's authority also includes condominium and time-share program registrations, and extends to transactions occurring within Virginia, even if the property involved is located outside the Commonwealth. Property owners', condominium unit owners', and proprietary lessees' (cooperative) associations are required to register and file annual reports with the Board.
